In the US, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act requires that all public companies implement data retention policies, and it outlaws the modification or destruction of financial records. Electronic records (incl. emails) must be captured and stored along with an audit trail of their revisions. Also in the US, the TCPA (Telemarketing & the Telephone Consumer Protection Act), the CAN-SPAM Act and State laws regulate the way companies communicate via fax, email and with predictive dialers.
With Iphen, all incoming and outgoing correspondence (hard copy and email) is stored in a single location. An audit function allows you to see all the changes made to significant data. Deleted records are stored and can only be accessed by administrators.
